For the month of March, GrassRoots Wrestling Co. will be donating 15% of proceeds to Fight For the Forgotten, a non-profit started by former Texas wrestler Justin Wren, with a mission to end the water crisis and slavery of the Mbuti Pygmy people of the Congo.
We are not an experienced clothing brand, we're small, and we don't have much money to advertise. What we have is a commitment to quality, a belief in community, and a passionate desire to enact change. We're also wanting feedback from you to help us improve and give you what you want. If you dig what we're doing and can share our mission we'll be eternally grateful. Now here's our spiel...
Wrestling is a sport that has endured for over 5000 years, yet today resides in relative obscurity. As lifelong students to the art of wrestling, we want to fix this problem.
Not only do we want to honor and support the growth of wrestling as a sport, we want to expand it past its current limits. We have begun by collaborating with artists to create unique wrestling apparel. We are committed to paying our artists well, providing quality clothing, and starting a wrestling academy through these grassroots efforts.
Youth wrestling is dying in Austin, TX, with only two struggling programs left. We want to revitalize and grow a community of wrestlers by starting a wrestling academy piloted by two former collegiate grapplers specializing in exercise science and psychology.
This is why we created the first fashion-friendly line of wrestling clothes called, The Art of Wrestling, where we express the art of this great sport through original works by great artists. No more cheesy designs or puns. It's time to be Original.
